History
Distributors group Celtone AG, one of the major Aiwa distributors, established Sencor brand in 1969 with key vision to design products based on consumer demand and not only simply distribute already produced products. Core tactics was to create products with fresh look and unique feature proposition.
The first introduction of Sencor products launch in Europe started with successful introduction of a tape player that became the hit model on Great Britain market with 300 000 sold units during one year. Distribution continued to other main markets like Nordics, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.
In 1972 Sencor, as the first brand, introduced breakthrough multi track stereo to western European market with 100 000 sold units via Swiss chain Migro. Other successful models with new technology like reverse stereo, double tape stereo recorder, Jumbo Hi-Fi were introduced as well.
In early 70s Sencor established new branches in Kuwait, Thailand, Hong Kong, Aden and many other European markets.
During late 70s Sencor continues with widen distribution and opens additional branches in Singapore, Saudi, Dubai, Australia and in Latin America like Brazil, Argentina, Panama and among first in Europe is successfully introducing advanced products like car radio, car tape player or double tape player.
